International Service Providers Quick To Adopt New Broadband Access Software From Efficient Networks
DALLAS - Telecommunications Companies in Asia and Europe Implement Efficient's tango Access Software
Efficient Networks Inc., a subsidiary of Siemens Corp. and a global leader in digital subscriber line (DSL) customer
premises equipment (CPE) and client access software, today announced that tango Access International Edition, available
for only a few weeks, has penetrated the global marketplace. tango Access was selected by telecommunications companies
in Asia and Europe because it simplifies access to broadband services on any type of broadband network-DSL, cable or
wireless-while also supporting concurrent access to multiple next-generation, revenue-generating broadband services.
tango Access, Efficient Networks' next generation advanced PPPoE client, contains connectivity options for subscriber
logons, multi-session capabilities, new services selection, dynamic routing and Quality of Service (QOS) configurations.
In addition, the software can be easily branded by service providers, and its graphical user interface customized to
meet specific marketing requirements.
These benefits are what drove Terilogy, one of the largest telecommunications systems integrators in Japan, to order
1.5 million licenses of the software. "tango Access enables subscribers to connect to broadband networks seamlessly,"
said Takao Tsubuki, president of Terilogy. "But equally important is the fact that the software supports dynamic routing
and multiple sessions that let providers increase the profitability of their broadband offerings with new services."
Hanaro Telecom in Korea, another new user of tango Access, selected the software because it could easily be branded to
appear as if it were the company's own offering. In addition, the software could be offered, out-of- the-box, in the
Korean language.
New East European carrier customers for tango Access include Telecom Poland and Slovak Telecom (Slovenske
Telekomunikacie, A.S.). In both cases, these service providers will be relying on tango Access for rolling out a new
broadband offering. Telecom Poland is projecting to roll out an additional 20,000 ADSL lines in 2002 and another 100,000
lines in 2003, while Slovak Telecom is anticipating as many as 30,000 new subscribers by the end of 2003.

also anticipating that existing EnterNet 300 customers will also want to migrate to tango Access."
