XtraMSN launches official Team New Zealand Web site
'Up-to-date news from Team New Zealand is now just a click away for the more than 830,000 Kiwis who visit XtraMSN each month and millions more on MSN Web sites worldwide'.
4 June 2002 — Team New Zealand and New Zealand’s favourite Web destination XtraMSN have launched the official Team New Zealand Web site to keep New Zealanders and sailing enthusiasts around the world in touch with the team’s preparations for the 2003 America’s Cup.
Team New Zealand’s official home on the Web can be found at http://www.teamnewzealand.com and can also be can also be accessed via http://xtramsn.co.nz/teamnewzealand
The site is being produced by the XtraMSN Sport Channel team and reflects Telecom’s commitment to bringing the America’s Cup to New Zealanders and the world as official telecommunications supplier to Team New Zealand.
Visitors to the site will find a comprehensive storehouse of Team New Zealand and America’s Cup information, including regularly updated news and views from the team, a profile of every team member, detailed Cup course maps, an in-depth sailing glossary for the uninitiated, and boat diagrams outlining the team positions and who does what on the water.
The site also features a beginners guide to the America’s Cup and the Challenger Series, a race calendar, a history of yachting’s most sought after trophy, and links to sponsors, supporters and other America’s Cup sites.
Visitors can also sign up for the Team New Zealand newsletter on the home page to get the latest Team New Zealand news delivered direct to their email inbox.
Team New Zealand Chief Executive Ross Blackman says the site is an important way the team will keep in touch with their supporters throughout New Zealand.
“Regardless of where you are across the country, you can now log on to the site and instantly get all the latest news and views direct from the team,” he says.
“This time we’ve got lots of new faces on board, and it’s great that supporters have a place where they can go online to find out about the team and get to know the guys better,” says Ross Blackman.
With the site being promoted across XtraMSN and on MSN Web sites internationally, the latest information about Team New Zealand is now just a click away for the more than 830,000 Kiwis who visit XtraMSN and millions more worldwide, says XtraMSN General Manager Rod Snodgrass.
