Cadmus on track with international strategy
$NZ1.5M Australian order announced
Auckland – Monday November 26, 2001 – Payment technology specialist, Cadmus Technology Limited (NZSE: CTL) announced today it has secured an order for 1,000 of its new Cadmus AC4500G terminals from Australian E-commerce company, On Q Business Systems Pty Ltd.
The order, a first for Cadmus’ new data capture terminals in the Australian marketplace, is worth over $1,500,000.
Cadmus is scheduled to deliver 400 terminals in December 2001 / January 2002, with the remainder to be delivered throughout 2002.
With the announcement of sales of 1,000 Cadmus credit card and EFTPOS terminals to PaySys International (Malaysia) Ltd in June of this year, this new agreement gives the company an international base of 2,000 terminals. This has been obtained in only six months since they started to focus internationally.
The AC4500G is a standalone multipurpose terminal with a high resolution touch panel and backlit graphics display. Built in Internet connectivity allows for fast loading of programs and other value added services including advertising, promotions and email. The AC4500G can be further enhanced to provide full smart card capability.
Cadmus Technology Limited, Managing Director Ian Bailey, says the order validates Cadmus R focus over the past twelve months. “New Zealand is one of the most advanced payments solutions markets in the world. The products we develop here have a first-to-market advantage in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.”
“This win firmly positions Cadmus into the Australian market,” says Pat McCammon – Cadmus GM International Sales and Marketing. “The response we have received for the AC4500G, from a relatively short sales run up, supports our strategy of developing locally and distributing internationally.
“Working with On Q to distribute the product will also allow us to build volume and increase our overall footprint in Australia.”
On Q Business Systems Pty Ltd is part of the On Q Group of companies, specialists in a wide range of e-Commerce and business solutions.
The release of the Cadmus AC4500G comes on the back of the recent release of the Cadmus EFTEL 350 (EFTPOS-at-home) and its certification for the ETSL EFTPOS network.
