Engineering Event World Class
New Zealand’s premier engineering, manufacturing and plant automation industry event, EMEX 2002, looks set to be the most impressive yet, with almost 60% of the space already taken despite seven months still to go.
“We’ve had a great response, probably the best of any engineering show yet,” says sales manager Bob Deacon.
“We’ve had enquiries from organizations all over New Zealand and from overseas asking how they can be part of EMEX 2002, as well as from senior managers and specifiers asking for more information on attending.”
The last EMEX, in 2000, attracted around 9000 people from all areas and career levels in the industry, with excellent feedback on the quality of the event from the vast majority.
“We’ve made some improvements to the show for 2002, and have a few pleasant surprises in store of visitors. EMEX 2002 will be even better than it was last time,” says Bob Deacon.
“We’re delighted with the support from the industry so far, and expect to have a full show offering the best and newest in machine technology, control and instrumentation, plant automation and monitoring, engineering software and computerisation, industrial engineering technology and maintenance, and welding, forming and cutting.”
Worry over the effects of the September 11 bombings is understandable.
“We were all a bit apprehensive after the attacks, but exhibitors are saying that business has to go on and can see no reason not to fully support the show and, through it, the industry they are part of. Close to a hundred exhibitors have signed up, and many are planning some very exciting exhibits. There will be a lot of demonstrations and working exhibits, and some excellent seminars. One area will feature automation and control, whilst another will focus on engineering developments.
“EMEX 2002 will be the best one ever.”
EMEX 2002 will be held at the Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane over three days from May 12 to 14 2002. The event is a trade-only show, restricted to those involved in engineering and manufacturing. Visitors can register online at www.emex.co.nz
