Clicking on to cash
Kiwi shoppers are letting their mice do the checking as they click on to the new Kachingo! web site to find out if they've won cash.
The site at www.kachingo.co.nz/ has experienced a nearly 30-fold increase in traffic as consumers check their numbers in the country's newest rewards programme.
Kachingo! was launched on October 15 and spokesperson Mary Vance says the site's page impressions have gone from an average of 400 a day to more than 12,000 in the two weeks following the launch.
"While the Internet site is one of only about seven different ways of checking whether or not you have won cash, it appears to be one of the most popular," Ms Vance says.
Kachingo!'s Internet site has been up and running since late last year when 102 Super Liquor stores first signed on for the programme.
With the addition of more than 400 new outlets - at Woolworths, Big Fresh, Price Chopper, BP service stations and KFC outlets north of the Bombay Hills - there's plainly a big increase in the numbers of people playing.
Kachingo! promoters have added three new sections to the Internet site - What's Happening?, Where Do I Kachingo!? and Have I got a Winning Ticket?.
"It's great fun and we've tried to improve the site to make it more informative for visitors as well as ensure it's quick and easy to find out if you've won," Ms Vance says.
"For example, it's just one click from the home page to find out the week's winning numbers."
There are three prize levels in Kachingo! - a daily draw for $1,000, a weekly draw for $10,000 and a big cash monthly draw for a minimum $250,000. Shoppers also can get instant rewards of product in-store.
About Kachingo! Kachingo! is a customer rewards programme invented in New Zealand. It is the only one to reward shoppers with Big Cash prizes and instant rewards just for shopping at any store within the Kachingo! village of partners. The village consists of BP, KFC (north of the Bombay Hills), Super Liquor and Woolworths, Big Fresh and Price Chopper supermarkets.
