" I'd Rather Live In Southland !" - www.southland.net.nz
Southland businesses and organizations band together to launch an Internet marketing campaign to encourage migration to their booming economy: www.southland.net.nz
The Internet-anchored domestic and international Internet marketing campaign is using the domain www.southland.net.nz to increase Southland's profile. The domain has established links in New Zealand and international search engines.
Example: on 23-Sep-01 we visited www.nzherald.co.nz (which has one of the more sophisticated search engines capabilities in New Zealand).
Entered "southland" in the SEARCH box and specified New Zealand as the search location. 39415 pages were returned for southland. www.southland.net.nz was the first result returned.
Incorporation of prominent links to the www.southland.net.nz Internet site in other high profile Internet projects under our management (example: www.nzcountry.co.nz, ranked Top 3% webs-most-linked and www.southnet.co.nz, ranked Top 2% most-linked-to by an Internet ranking service earlier this year) should increase the effectiveness of the campaign.
As many as 100+ additional "strong descriptive generic Internet domains" may be used to further raise the profile of the "I'd Rather Live in Southland.net.nz" campaign. Example: www.new.zealand.net.nz was activated with descriptive New Zealand "search engine content" earlier this year and submitted to the search engines and links sites around the world.
The www.southland.net.nz - " I'D RATHER LIVE IN SOUTHLAND !" is the first stage of our "I'D RATHER LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND" campaign. We are launching the Southland-centric component of the "I'D RATHER LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND" campaign now because Southland has immediate, critical immigration requirements.
In the pre-September 11 world, New Zealand was considered by many overseas people and businesses as an exotic long-haul tourism destination or small boutique economy. Only in recent years has there been considerable growth in investment, migration and retirement by affluent individuals and businesses to New Zealand destinations such as Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka.
The unprecedented geo-political and economic uncertainties created by the tragic terrorist acts in America may have changed New Zealand's position in the world. In the post-September 11 world, New Zealand may be perceived as an uniquely safe, stable destination in which to live and invest.
In September 1995, The Economist magazine announced the birth of the commercial Internet with the cover story "Suddenly Distance No Longer Matters." This meant that technology had resized the world. Now, in the post-September 11 world, coupled with the rapid advances in telecommunications-Internet technologies of the past 5 years, New Zealand's lack of proximity to densely population North American urban centers may be an invaluable asset.
For years our promotional New Zealand Country Internet site has received indications of interest and requests for assistance from people overseas concerning career and "lifestyle" opportunities in Southland, Fiordland, Queenstown, Otago and Canterbury and New Zealand in general.
We intend to develop additional components of the "I'D RATHER LIVE IN SOUTHLAND & NEW ZEALAND" campaign; this should include Internet sub-sites providing links and resources to facilitate immigration, investment and retirement to career and "lifestyle" opportunities in Invercargill, Southland, Fiordland, The Catlins, Stewart Island, Queenstown and Otago.
Businesses looking for employees can e-mail the job description and contact details to opportunities@southland.net.nz for a free listing.
