Terabyte Announces First Use Of Rational Suite Contentstudio To Integrate Content Updates From Non-Technical Providers
2001 Volvo Ocean Race yacht website to use groundbreaking content management software Auckland – 25 July 2001 – In order
to create a truly ‘on-board’ experience for yacht racing fans, Terabyte, New Zealand’s leading new media design company,
has announced the first use of Rational Software’s ContentStudio application suite. The groundbreaking ContentStudio
suite will take full advantage of regular news, video feeds, still shots and e-mails from the Team News Corp crew during
the gruelling, round-the-world, 2001 Volvo Ocean Race. ContentStudio successfully manages content and updates without
the bottlenecks caused by the unnecessary interaction between technical and non-technical staff.
The recently announced deal to put the 2001 Volvo Ocean Race Team News Corp yacht, sponsored by News Corporation, on the
web, reflects the specialist knowledge Terabyte and Rational Software bring to this type of project. Terabyte, one of
the key developers of Virtual Spectator’s award winning application covering the 2000 America’s Cup, has combined its
extensive knowledge of web design and hot-off-the-press information provision with Rational Software’s ContentStudio
capabilities.
Jane Melville, Business Development Manager at Terabyte said: “Our experience of this type of event coverage, combined
with the company’s proven track record at delivering quality web design for major blue-chip clients, has given us a
great advantage in designing this internationally high profile website. Our choice of Rational Suite ContentStudio
reflects the unmatched ability of this application suite to enable the fastest, most accurate and cost-effective content
management available.”
Chris Galloway, Country Manager for Rational Software New Zealand said: “This project hinges on the constant, efficient,
management of content. Using Rational Suite ContentStudio allows one process and set of tools for developing and
managing that content. It provides a unified approach that minimizes complexity and maximizes productivity. We look
forward to working closely with Terabyte in the future on this dynamic and evolving area of web site design and
management.”
