Quake Stirs Capital
A magnitude 4.6 earthquake that struck at 5pm today was felt in Wellington and on the Kapiti Coast.
It was centred 30km northwest of Porirua and was 55km deep, Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences
Limited seismologist Warwick Smith said. The offshore Kapiti area was a particularly active part of New Zealand, Dr Smith said.
