ACT! 2000 Compatible With Newly Launched Microsoft Office XP
Free download patch available to ACT! 2000 users to enable full compatibility
Interact Commerce Corporation, the makers of SalesLogix, the leader in mid-market CRM and ACT!, the best-selling contact
manager, today announced that all versions of ACT! 2000, including international versions, are compatible with the newly
launched Microsoft Office XP.
“With millions of users worldwide, ACT! is a proven leader in the contact management space,” said Lisa Gurry, product
manager for Office at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to work with Interact and thrilled that ACT!’s compatibility with
Office XP is available out of the gate for ACT! users that want to upgrade to Office XP.”
In addition to ACT!’s comprehensive calendar and contact management functions, ACT! fully integrates with Microsoft Word
providing ACT! users a way to produce professional correspondence such as letters, proposals and documents quickly and
easily using Word directly from within ACT!. A simple selection switches users from the internal ACT! word processor to
Microsoft Word for all ACT! functions. A free patch enables ACT! 2000 users to maintain all of the Word functionality
they are accustomed to when they upgrade to Office XP. The patch can be downloaded at www.act.com/xp-update.
“The majority of our users have a version of Microsoft Office to complement their ACT! contact management capabilities,”
said Nick Gaynor, general manager, ACT! Asia Pacific of Interact Commerce. “Office XP is a strong new package that we
feel many of our users will be interested in. Based on this, we are committed to providing existing and future ACT!
users with Office compatibility.”
.
"We are pleased to be working with Microsoft both at the strategic product development level, (as evidenced by the quick
availability of this upgrade) and, with their local team, addressing key vertical markets that the Microsoft Office XP's
new 'smart tags' target- this technology is sure to enhance business productivity."
