Dr John Smart has just joined the Foundation For Research Science and Technology as its Group Manager, Portfolio
Management. This is a new position that has been established as part of the restructuring of the organisation.
The Portfolio Investments Division is responsible for reviewing and developing portfolios of research, science and
technology that provides the strategic direction for the Foundation’s future funding investments.
Dr Smart has a Master of Management from Victoria University and a PhD in Biochemistry from Massey University. Prior to
joining the Foundation, Dr Smart has held various research management positions within the Dairy Industry.
