Compudigm, Harrah’s Sign Data-Visualization Agreement
Compudigm International is to install its innovative data-visualization software, seePOWER, at Harrah’s corporate
headquarters in Las Vegas.
An agreement has just been signed between Compudigm International and Harrah’s Entertainment Inc, which could lead to
further installations at Harrah’s casinos nationwide, based upon Compudigm’s performance against various acceptance
criteria.
Andrew Cardno, President and CEO of Compudigm, says the company is looking forward to working with the largest, most
prestigious and most information-driven company in the gaming world.
Founded more than 60 years ago, Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. is the most recognized and respected name in the
casino-entertainment industry, operating 21 casinos in the United States under the Harrah’s, Rio and Showboat brand
names, with a combined database of more than 19 million players.
“We know one of the biggest issues facing casino management is cutting through the clutter of disparate bits of data to
get a clean, overall picture of the whole operation,” Cardno says. “seePOWER gathers data from across the casino floor
and displays it in a visual format. In simple terms, it is a highly efficient means of gathering business information to
monitor and improve performance, which then leads to more effective gaming-machine management and a thorough
interpretation of business trends.
“We have developed a solution which enables casinos to view their operational and customer- loyalty data in a very
simple and user-friendly manner. By turning data into pictures, we have revolutionized the way business professionals
view data and make the business decision-making cycle faster and easier,” says Cardno.
The installation of seePOWER at Harrah’s will provide a comprehensive picture of the performance of each slot machine
based on location, game type, denomination and overall contribution to the property’s bottom line. By providing insight
into the traditionally difficult area of managing machine performance through time and the location of gaming machines,
seePOWER will enable Harrah’s managers to fine-tune their operations virtually and see the gathered data in visual
format.
“Compudigm’s visualization software, which augments Harrah’s sophisticated, industry-leading customer relationship
management capabilities, is expected to be a powerful tool for enhancing customer relationships,” says John Boushy,
Harrah’s Entertainment Senior Vice President of Operations Products and Services and Chief Information Officer.
“Compudigm will fully integrate seePOWER with our award winning data warehouse and will access both customer and slot
performance information, without replication. As a result, seePOWER should enable Harrah’s to more easily determine the
most popular slot products for our players by displaying the flow of traffic and revenues across the casino floor.
Providing the right slots at the right places to our customers is just one more way we expect to continue to grow our
revenues.”
Both companies have been recognized for their innovation by The Data Warehouse Institute (TDWI), with Compudigm winning
TDWI 2001 Pioneering Product Award and Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., a TDWI 2000 winner of the Leadership in Data
Warehousing Award
Compudigm’s software is currently being installed in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and is marketed by International Game Technology. seePOWER was developed for the gaming industry in
1999.
