Symantec Delivers Complete Enterprise Protection For Small Businesses With Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.5
Latest addition to Symantec Enterprise Security suites utilises Digital Immune System technology for desktops and server protection
Symantec today announced Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.5 for Small Businesses. This solution provides easy access to corporate standard technology and support to meet the security needs of small businesses for their desktops and servers.
Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.5 is the only anti-virus software incorporating Digital Immune System (DIS)-enabled software for unparalleled backend response mechanisms. The DIS features ¡¥closed-loop¡¦ automation technology, detecting viruses and delivering cures to infected desktops or entire organisations. Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.5 for Small Businesses also includes Norton AntiVirus Extension (NAVEX) technology, maximising uptime and minimising total cost of ownership. Part of the Symantec Enterprise Security suite, it delivers a complete solution to protect small businesses against viruses.
Improved control of lightly managed clients for configuration and lock-down on remote computers provides extended policy management and control. Virus alerts from remote computers can also be stored and forwarded to a central alert server.
New flood control capabilities also decrease bandwidth problems that occur when too many users attempt to submit infected files. The addition of a new support node provides instant access to Symantec Enterprise Support and eliminates the need to leave the Symantec System Centre console to access support information.
FAST FACTS: Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.5 for Small Businesses offers:

It enables smaller operations and remote users best-of-breed technology for the most effective, security solution for their organisation.¡¨
Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.5 incorporates several new features to ease administration and manageability and ensure maximum protection:
„h As part of the DIS, Internet-based Scan and Deliver now offers the ability to submit infected files to Symantec via the Internet using HTTPS, removing the reliance of an email-based submission system. Internet Scan & Deliver provides faster submissions, faster virus response time and increased security.
„h Virus List Web-based installation support allows customers to point their clients at an internal Web server and download the software, thereby eliminating the need to rely on login scripts or third-party distribution tools. Support for resumable downloads eliminates the need to restart a download from the beginning if the connection is lost while downloading from an Internet Web server.
„h Alert forwarding for lightly managed clients allows administrators to configure and lock-down client settings on hard-to-reach remote/laptop computers and configure centralised virus alerting for clients not managed by the central management console.
„h Virus definition rollback gives administrators the option of returning to a previous set of virus definitions from a single, convenient location. Administrators can also reinitiate missed events, such as a scheduled virus scan, thereby ensuring maximum virus protection.
„h The issue of a Virus List enables administrators to confirm whether their business is protected against specific threats by itemising viruses that their existing definitions detect.
„h Live Update Randomiser re-organises the definitions schedule for better management of network traffic and Reinitiate Missed Events ensures continuous virus protection.
„h Support node, an HTML viewer with a live link to Symantec Support, enables administrators to access timely service and support information without leaving their consoles.
„h Symantec System Centre provides an intuitive centralised console for customers who need to protect, control and monitor their customers¡¦ machines from a single console. Administrators are able to set and lock down policies to ensure users are fully protected at all times.
„h NAVEX technology maximises system uptime and minimise total cost of ownership by creating a single common extensible scanning and repair engine across multiple tiers - including Windows 9x, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 - removing the need to reboot or re-deploy software.
