Easimatch New Release Relieves Financial Year-End Headache For Companies Wanting To Upgrade Their Accounting System.
Clear guidelines and patented selection methodology offer unique assistance in the difficult decision of selecting which
accounting package best meets the requirements.
EasiMatch Systems Limited has just released version 10 of its market-unique accounting selection software - EasiMatch.
The New Zealand made and patented software is an advanced development for businesses, accountants and consultants alike.
Selecting a new accounting solution has never been so difficult, as there are literally hundreds of accounting packages,
e-commerce and even Internet based services to chose from. EasiMatch solves this problem by providing the only
comprehensive computerised selection tool in Australasia that matches accounting packages to specific individual
requirements. It offers thorough evaluation of 76 accounting software, and suggests 668 clearly explained criteria to
ensure every specified business accounting requirement is met.
Alan Maxwell, Director of EasiMatch Systems Limited, explains: “Given the importance that accounting and bookkeeping
systems have on the viability and operation of a business, it is surprising how many companies purchase accounting
packages based on what’s the cheapest or the most popular. Many do not take into consideration whether the software
actually satisfies their most important business requirements. A bad decision can either cause frustration, loss of many
thousands of dollars to remedy the situation, or even threaten the very existence of a business.”
“Users record their priorities for the subset of the 668 total criteria that are relevant to them. Then, unlike other
selection methodologies that use weightings to rank the suitability of accounting software, EasiMatch uses a unique
patented evaluation ratio approach. It essentially counts the total number of customer requirements that were met – a
method that, to my surprise, is not being used anywhere else. The criteria help the customer to pin point exact
requirements. This minimises the risk of choosing the wrong accounting package. EasiMatch then provides a list of
software that meet high percentages of the mandatory and non-mandatory criteria set by the customer and that is also
within their budget.”
EasiMatch Systems based in Christchurch was established in 1993 when director, Alan Maxwell - a qualified accountant and
a consultant in applications systems design - realised the need for an up-to-date and thoroughly researched accounting
selection tool. “Many accounting firms and business consultants offer some level of advice on accounting solutions, but
apart from paper-based directories, there wasn’t really anything around that people could work with easily on the
computer. EasiMatch is tailored for small to medium businesses, and can be used by anyone with knowledge of accounting
principles – from relative accounting fledglings interested in the basics to gurus requiring in-depth analysis.”
The software was born from many thousands of hours of development work and collective expertise from qualified
colleagues and associates. Updated information about each accounting package is provided by vendors and evaluated by
EasiMatch Systems. There is no charge to the vendor for being listed on the EasiMatch Accounting Software Directory to
ensure the information is as independent as possible.
EasiMatch has already negotiated one major distribution agreement in Australia and plans to extend sales networks in the
US and other English-speaking countries. Work is currently underway to compliment the existing CD-ROM product with a new
interactive web service to be launched later in the year.
About EasiMatch Systems
EasiMatch Systems Ltd, based in Christchurch NZ, develops and supplies tools and research information for use by
organisations and their business advisors, to help them select the best product or system that meets their requirements.
September 1995 saw the first commercial use of the ‘Professional’ EasiMatch Evaluation Management System, to assist the
publisher of a printed directory of NZ business accounting software. With the feedback received, the functionality of
the system has been enhanced, including providing clearer and easier to understand results, and led to the development
of the simpler ‘Standard’ cut down version of the system that is now distributed on CD ROM with any of the research
information we supply. That original directory of NZ accounting software is now produced and distributed entirely by
EasiMatch Systems Ltd.
The value of the EasiMatch approach has also been recognised through the awarding of patents. NZ patent 286313 was
awarded in 1997 with US and Australian patents pending.
The future looks even better, with our expansion into providing access to our information, expertise and selection tools
directly through our web site, providing access to information in other areas of research and extending the
functionality of our products.
