PRESS RELEASE: NEW SERVICE LAUNCHED
SouthNET, one of New Zealand's first Internet Services Providers, has come up with another innovative service, which gives New Zealanders the opportunity to let their e-mail addresses tell the world who and where they are.
SouthNET is well known for its customer service and reliability and the Southland-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) has offered performance Internet connections, hosting and corporate services since its inception in 1995, with a secured New Zealand-wide client base.
The Internet Service Provider's latest innovation is an e-mail address service,
http://www.addresses.net.nz
which offers locality descriptive and uniquely New Zealand generic e-mail addresses.
Marc Cohen, General Manager of SouthNET says, "We recognize that New Zealanders are extremely proud of their communities and regions, and are always looking for an opportunity to support their community. We also realise that the world is running out of available domain names. This service enables our clients to have access to such domains – for example, an individual may wish to be known as bailey@rotorua.net or a business as tourism@new.zealand.net.nz or a sports fan rugby@eden.park.org.nz."
Examples of domain names registered by SouthNET for client use include Fiordland.net.nz, Queenstown.co.nz, Rotorua.net.nz, Auk.net.nz, KiaOra.net.nz and New.Zealand.net.nz to name just a few. In addition to places and concepts, prominent New Zealand topographical features are also available. These include rivers, mountains, harbours, points and bays throughout New Zealand, Mr. Cohen says.
