MODERATION OF .GOVT.NZ DOMAIN MOVES TO E-GOVT UNIT
The Government Information System Managers Forum (GOVIS) has transferred its responsibilities in respect of .govt.nz moderation for central government agencies to the SSC E-Government unit.
For some years GOVIS has voluntarily performed the valuable function of moderating this domain on behalf of the community of central government agencies.
"The formation of the E-Government Unit in the State Services Commission now creates a natural home for this role in a central government agency," said Mike Pearson, Convenor of GOVIS.
"We are sure that the E-Government Unit will moderate names in such a way as to protect public confidence in the integrity of the .govt.nz domain, as GOVIS has always done."
"To assist them, GOVIS has recently developed a policy document, 'Moderation of central Government domain names in the .govt.nz domain', which has been passed to the E-Government Unit."
The moderation of Local Government .govt.nz domain name space remains unaffected by the change.
