PeopleSoft Consulting Offers New Upgrade Services For PeopleSoft 8
Comprehensive Services Deliver Up to 40 Percent Time and Cost Savings
AUCKLAND, November 21, 2000 - PeopleSoft Consulting is taking customers straight to 8. Today PeopleSoft Inc. announced the Upgrade Services Roadmap, a comprehensive set of services designed to dramatically cut the time and cost required to upgrade to PeopleSoft 8.
PeopleSoft Upgrade Services Roadmap is driven by a new upgrade approach developed by PeopleSoft Consulting. This approach combines a technical upgrade in parallel with a new eBusiness solution implementation. Compared to the traditional sequential approach, PeopleSoft Upgrade Services Roadmap has the potential to cut upgrade time and cost for PeopleSoft 8 as much as 40 percent.
According to Stephen Moore, PeopleSoft Asia Pacific’s Vice President for Professional Services, customers that adopt PeopleSoft’s upgrade roadmap will be able to quickly transition themselves to PeopleSoft’s pure internet applications at minimal cost.
“The PeopleSoft Upgrade Services Roadmap provides a rapid, step-by-step approach for upgrading to PeopleSoft 8 and is guided by PeopleSoft Consulting’s new pure internet methodology.”
The Roadmap includes eBusiness implementation best practices, fixed-time/fixed cost packaged services, milestone review services and project management services, all available at a client site or via PeopleSoft’s ASP solutions channel.
Mr Moore says companies across Asia Pacific have shown a great deal of interest in upgrading to 8 and he sees the development of the Upgrade roadmap as critical to reducing the complexity of implementations and helping to speed up time-to-benefit.
Upgrades Powered by PeopleSoft Compass
PeopleSoft Upgrade Services Roadmap is based on PeopleSoft Compass, the industry’s only implementation methodology specifically developed for PeopleSoft 8 pure internet applications.
PeopleSoft Compass gets customers up and running quickly on PeopleSoft 8 by breaking down implementations into manageable components, each with a defined scope and discrete deliverables. Compass allows PeopleSoft consultants to transfer knowledge quickly to customers’ internal development and end-user teams, and offers customers the flexibility to implement systems rapidly while also supporting new eBusiness processes.
PeopleSoft Compass also helps customers identify and prioritise products to implement in parallel, driving improved upgrade reliability and predictability. In addition, PeopleSoft Compass is compatible with the methodologies of PeopleSoft’s strategic consulting partners resulting in smoother, more focused joint implementations.
“Organisations such as PeopleSoft Consulting have adopted the right philosophy and have created an open framework that allows for easy integration with external methodologies,” said Barry Wilderman, Senior Vice President with META Group.
PeopleSoft Upgrade Services Roadmap and PeopleSoft Compass are part of PeopleSoft’s Client Lifecycle Services initiative, which provides clients with a starting point and the fastest path forward to eBusiness value and is a new initiative for PeopleSoft 8.
Client Lifecycle Services provide support for changing client requirements over time and deliver results to clients through three integrated services roadmaps – Implementation, Optimisation and Upgrade Services. Each roadmap is comprised of Packaged Services, Project Management Services, Milestone Review Services and are governed by PeopleSoft’s new pure internet implementation methodology – PeopleSoft Compass.
