World’s biggest distributor makes its first-ever selection of New Zealand developed software
Auckland, November 17–The CommSoft Group Ltd today announced it had signed a deal worth at least $NZ350,000 over the
next year with Ingram Micro for the New Zealand distribution of its Internet monitoring tool, NetMaster.
Last month Ingram Micro signed up for $A1 million worth of NetMaster over the course of the next year.
“Ingram Micro is the world’s largest technology distributor, and its decision to distribute NetMaster represents a huge
vote of confidence in the product’s capabilities,” said Rodney Martin, CommSoft Worldwide Chief Operating Officer.
“This is a very exciting day for CommSoft. We are delighted to have entered into this relationship with Ingram Micro in
New Zealand and proud that their NetMaster decision is the first time they have selected software developed in this
country. This decision confirms that New Zealand really is a good place to develop IT products.”
NetMaster enables businesses to monitor, control and report on individual employee’s use of the Internet. NetMaster
provides reports designed for management, rather than the technical analysis tools that have typically been offered up
to now.
“NetMaster enables a business to determine how much Internet usage is really costing. The tool enables managers to
quickly identify inappropriate use of the Internet by employees, often called ‘cyberslacking,’” Mr Martin said.
“For many employers the ISP charges aren’t important, but the commitment of time in terms loss of productivity can be
enormous, and most organisations have no way of monitoring it.”
In addition to the Ingram deal in Australia, CommSoft has also had outstanding success with NetMaster in South Africa.
“NetMaster has won huge sales success in every market we have introduced it to, in fact we were delighted to develop
this relationship with Ingram Micro because it means we can cope with the demand,” Mr Martin said. “With NetMaster we
have really hit an industry soft-spot.”
“NetMaster is valued as a means of deterring abuse of the Internet but managers also value it very highly as a tool that
gives an instant overview of all web use in an enterprise,“ Mr Martin said.
