Commending The Technology And Business Mix

COMMENDING THE TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS MIX
Five companies that have successfully harnessed technology to improve their bottom dollar are to receive commendations from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.
These Technology Commendations recognise and celebrate the New Zealand companies that have grown their business and benefited the economy through the successful commercial adoption of innovative technology.
The recipients of the inaugural commendations are:
IntegrationTechnologies Ltd of Palmerston North for its service station and retail integration package, The Enabler Sullivan& Haddon Group Ltd of Manakau City for its high pressure water cutting robot, the Kinetic Beamline 600, designed for steel fabrication processing NZDairy Group of Hamilton for its complex lipid extraction business targeted at the nutrition and pharmaceutical industries DynamometersLtd of Lower Hutt for its car engine torque and power measuring device, the Dynapack BDent Global Ltd of Lower Hutt for its synthesis of organic compounds used in the drug testing industry.
This year a special Chairman’s Award goes to Industrial Research Ltd in recognition of the technical development and assistance provided to many of the commendation recipients.
“These companies have all demonstrated remarkable skills in reading the market and identifying unique products that have domestic and international applications,” said Foundation acting Chief Executive, Gowan Pickering.
“Through the application of innovative technology, these companies have achieved commercial success and positioned themselves as world leaders, with the spin-off of providing additional employment opportunities for other New Zealanders.”
“Congratulations to all Commendations recipients for the innovation and foresight you have so clearly demonstrated.”
The Commendations were conferred on businesses that demonstrated financial growth based on the application of innovative technology as well as direct and indirect benefits such as an increase in market share, sales, productivity, export growth and employment creation.
“Our objective for the Technology Commendations is to promote the link between innovative technology and commercial success. These Commendations ‘champion our champions’ by recognising those who have led the way and our more recent innovators. At the same time, we raise awareness of the range of assistance available from the Foundation to help business’ uptake of innovative technology,” Mr Pickering said.
Certificates will be presented to Commendation winners at their business premises.
