HIDE'S DEFIANCE IMPACTED ON PREBBLE
"Rodney Hide's defiance of wiser counsels in ACT to stand as a constituency candidate in Epsom has helped erode his leader's position in Wellington Central", said Epsom National candidate Richard Worth today.
"With Mr Hide trying to split his time between regional Auckland and constituency campaigning a bigger nationwide role was forced on Richard Prebble." Mr Worth said.
"It is clear Mr Prebble wanted to spend more time about the streets of Wellington. He is in such a tight race he needed all the support he could get from his list team.
"Mr Hide's maverick tendencies have helped neither the centre right nor his party. No doubt the question marks over his team loyalties will cause frictions in ACT over coming months.
"Divided personal loyalties within ACT underline why centre right voters must make a conscious decision at the polls in Epsom to give two ticks for National covering the constituency and party vote."
