Mrs Shipley's fiscal slips showing

Published: Tue 9 Nov 1999 09:35 AM
"Prime Minister Jenny Shipley again opened her mouth and let things run out when on the Leighton Smith debate last night, she said there was a fiscal cap on Treaty of Waitangi settlements," Labour finance spokesperson Michael Cullen said today.
"The cap was removed as part of the National-New Zealand First coalition negotiations and has never been re-imposed. It appears in the Pre-election Fiscal and Economic Update among the non-quantifiable contingent liabilities. In other words, no numbers attached.
"It appears that Mrs Shipley's fiscal slips are showing again," Dr Cullen said.
