Alliance: Taxpayers Are 'Fat Pigs'
'Fat pigs' is how Sandra Lee's tertiary education flyer labels taxpayers, and Libertarianz Deputy Leader Richard McGrath demands an explanation.
"She has just plumbed new depths with this disgusting insult. Taxpayers are the very people who are robbed in order to fund Ms Lee and her fellow politicians," he said. "Have they forgotten about Ian Mutton? He was the 'fat pig' hounded to death by Inland Revenue."
Dr McGrath is at a loss to understand how our current income tax system was ever passed into law. "How can our politicians sleep at night with the blood of Ian Mutton and others on their hands? How can New Zealanders oppose the death penalty on the one hand, yet sanction the IRD driving innocent taxpayers into the grave by their threats and bullying on the other?"
Dr McGrath asks why social spending can't be funded voluntarily and administered by private charities. "It is the only moral way to fundraise and deliver care to those unable to look after themselves," he said. "If anyone deserves the label 'fat pigs' it's those with their snouts in the public trough. The trough that Inland Revenue used to top up regularly by stealing from Ian Mutton. Now they steal from his widow."
