Smokers Of The World Protest March

Published: Wed 1 Sep 1999 01:25 PM
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH PROTEST MARCH
There's Gonna Be A Revolution...
..."with a little help from my friends" hopes Joy Faulkner.
Sept 4th is now less than a week away, and feedback about the march has been more than encouraging. Enquiries have been flooding in from around the country and support marches in Christchurch and New Plymouth appear to be attracting the same interest.
For those few who still think this is just a protest for bleating 'scumbag smokers' Joy Faulkner has a message for you: "Wake up!! This march is," she says," about getting big brother government off our backs and out of our lives."
"First they came for the smoker, what ya gonna do when they come for you?" she asks. They will use the same tactics. You're too fat,' they will say, 'or too thin'. 'Do you know what you're eating?' they will ask? They will tell you that an ID card will bring down the road toll. Joy says don't just sit back and take this nonsense - be there on Saturday, or stop whining!
If you believe the state's nannying nonsense is for your own safety, for your own good - for 'the children' - then you probably also believe in fairies. THIS MARCH IS NOT FOR YOU!
But if you have had enough of the power and money hungry bureaucratic bullshit - as the groundswell has told me you are - then I will be pleased to see you on September 4th at the corner of Beresford and Pitt Streets, 12 noon. Lets take back our bodies, our lives, our properties, our individual rights and our responsibilities. And tell these bloody statists to NAFF OFF!!
Viva La Revolution!!
