"Jim Anderton is a confused pathetic individual leading a disparate group of political non-entities whose political base
is collapsing around them" said Rod O'Beirne, National Party Candidate.
Anderton has attacked Coast Action Network, an apolitical independent lobby group, for seeking funding from local bodies
to preserve the sustainable use of Coast resources and prevent the meltdown of the local economy and jobs.
"Anderton sees an unlawfully funded political campaign by CAN against the Labour/Alliance bloc. This will surprise CAN
members and Labour stalwarts such as Katrina Renolds and Stan Gladstone, I may disagree with their political philosophy
but admire their integrity in standing up for the Coast".
"It's a shame Labour MP's Damien O'Connor and Jim Sutton did not display the same courage in Parliament last week and
were conspicuously silent when they had the opportunity to support sustainable timber management for the Coast" said Rod
O'Beirne.
"Mind you, it's not the first time illogical Jim has got it wrong. On "Morning Report" 22 June he over stated the number
of unemployed by mere 85,000, exaggerated the hospital waiting lists by 100,000, completely invented the number who have
private insurance and simply doubled the number of Kiwis living in Australia " stated Mr O'Beirne. "On his recent visit
to Hokitika, Anderton blatantly lied to superannuants by telling them their pensions would be cut due to deflation."
"This is the man who sees himself as the next Deputy Prime Minister, it's a bit of a worry!"
