Libertarianz Health Spokesman Dr Richard McGrath today urged all New Zealanders to take responsibility for their own
health and consider getting vaccinated against the latest influenza strains - thus avoiding 'Influenza Related
Disability'.
"Don't wait until you get sick enough to need medical care that other people are forced to pay for," said Dr McGrath,
"do something now. You, not the state, are the owner of your body, and this is an opportunity to affirm your individual
sovereignty over one variety of IRD for which we already have a vaccine."
Dr McGrath freely admits he is touting for business. "Every person that comes to me for a vaccination will be engaging
in a voluntary, mutually beneficial interaction. That's the capitalist free market at work."
Libertarianz would eventually stop the practice of forcibly seizing people's earnings to finance health care for others.
"Under a Libertarianz government," said McGrath, "people would be able to their own decisions on their health, education
and superannuation - with their own money, and without interference from the other IRD, for which libertarianism is the
only prescribed vaccine."
"Like smallpox," adds McGrath, "the evil of Mr Holland's IRD can and will be eradicated from the face of the earth. But
only one political party promises to do this - Libertarianz."
