Auditor-General right to investigate Maggie Barry allegation

The Taxpayers’ Union is welcoming the investigation into allegations that Maggie Barry used Parliamentary funding for political party purposes.
“There is a clear line between the work of Parliamentary staff and those that hold private allegiance to political parties,” says Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director Jordan Williams.
“Even if there is a perception in Wellington that this happens all the time, Parliament’s credibility depends on the rigorous enforcement of the rules.”
