SuperGrans vs Super-grans
We heard yesterday on Radio New Zealand that ‘Super-grans’ will be wearing yellow capes in protest at the Oil and Gas
conference in Wellington.
It’s great that people care so much about our environment and are doing their bit but this group is not SuperGrans, the
organisation that provides Life Skills mentoring throughout the country.
Our communities all need the activists and they need the quiet influencers. SuperGrans are the latter by mentoring life
skills that build confidence and capability with life and for families.
We help people become more connected and ultimately community influencers in their own right but they can rarely achieve
this until the fundamental aspects of life are realised. SuperGrans mentor fundamental skills around the home, how to
provide healthy sustenance for the whanau, employment skills and ways of using resources that are going to make life
more effective for tamariki.
SuperGrans also provide financial mentoring for individuals and families experiencing hardship with the aim of the
client becoming more financially capable and able to make long-term changes.
There are no yellow capes in sight but they’re all super-heroes too. Ends.
