How does Winston keep a straight face?
4 AUGUST 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The gall of Winston Peters calling National “big spending” in relation to its promise to spend $2.6 billion on Auckland Transport, is a bit rich from the man who’s blown out the Taxpayers’ Union “Bribe-O-Meter”, despite many of New Zealand First’s policies being so vague they can’t even be costed by our independent experts.
Jordan Williams, Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director says, “Winston must be rehearsing for a comedy gig. A quick visit to taxpayers.org.nz/bribe_o_meter would see him attacking his own Party much more than any faux outrage he can land on the Nats for ‘pork barrel politics’.”
“While we’re on the subject of Mr Peters’ apparent concern for public funds - that $158,000 of taxpayers’ money NZ First illegally spent in the 2005 election, has he paid it back yet?”
