Drop in ACC Levies Confirmed

Confirmation of a drop in ACC levies of $450 million has been welcomed by the EMA.

ACC Minister Nikki Kaye confirmed the ACC Board’s recommended levy reductions for 2016/2017 year have been agreed to by Government today.

“This is in line with what EMA has been pushing for on behalf of its members,” says Kim Campbell, CEO.

He said, while the reduction in motor vehicle, work and earners levies, has been announced previously, progressing this to the next stage was an important step and welcome news for employers.

“With all the work that is being done around health and safety, and reducing workplace injuries, I would expect employers to enjoy ongoing benefits from this too. At the EMA, we know there has been a concerted effort amongst employers in relation to health and safety training,” says Mr Campbell.
