Promoting Labour’s Positive Policies
General Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, Tim Barnett, today launched Labour’s television advertisements for
the 2014 election. The advertisements help tell Labour’s positive story for a better New Zealand.
Tim Barnett said that the advertisements reflected the issues New Zealanders care about.
“People are telling us they want a change from politics as usual, they want positive politics, with parties putting
people first and focusing on the issues that really matter,” Mr Barnett said.
“Labour’s advertisements reflect our positive campaign and Labour’s positive policy solutions to the challenges many
Kiwis are facing: housing affordability, more jobs and higher wages, and giving kids the best start possible. We’re
focusing on what really matters: work, homes and families.”
The advertisements were produced by Labour’s agency, Running with Scissors, were filmed in Auckland and Wellington, and
use music produced and composed in New Zealand.
Three 30 second advertisements have been released today, one of which is Labour’s first fully scripted in Te Reo.
“Labour has already made a number of positive policy announcements that relate specifically to Māori and Māori
development and it’s fantastic we’ve been able to produce advertisements in Te Reo that sit alongside the advertisements
for general release” Mr Barnett said.
