ACT wants all nine new schools in Auckland to be partnership schools
ACT will press National to make the $350 million nine new schools in Auckland Partnership Schools" confirmed Dr. Jamie Whyte ACT's Leader.
"It is the sensible decision to make if we want to lift New Zealand's falling education standards. The five new "partnership" schools have already proved that Partnership schools where the community and not the bureaucrats run the school outperform our public schools.”
“Public schools in Auckland are failing Maori and Pacifika pupils, Maori and Pacifika pupils who were failing NCEA at public state schools are passing with distinction at the new Partnership Schools,” said Dr Whyte
“Even President Obama, a Democrat has acknowledged Partnership schools out achieve State schools.
ACT would go even further. Parents of all state schools should have the option to decide their local school can be a Partnership School so their children can have the benefit of being educated in the best possible school.
School choices should be made by the community and parents and not the Teachers Union.”
