Unite Union welcomes the announcement today by the Labour Party to increase the minimum wage by $2 per hour by early 2015.
Tom Buckley, Unite Union’s Assistant Secretary said “An increase to the minimum wage of $2 per hour is a substantial increase to the pay packets of low paid workers throughout New Zealand. This is a meaningful step towards a Living Wage and will represent a significant increase to an overwhelming majority of Unite’s members .”
