Fund Front Line, Not More Bureaucrats
Responding to media reports that the Families Commission is to be restructured to increase its number of staff members, Taxpayers’ Union Executive
Director Jordan Williams says:
“Increasing the number of staff members at a Commission that has come up with such ground-breaking reports as ‘Eating Together at Mealtimes’ seems strange. We can only imagine how many front line social services could have been better funded if not for the
expense of such reports from the Commission.”
“The Families Commission costs taxpayers millions but it's not clear why those funds wouldn't be better spent helping
families directly, or taxing them less.”
