Northland Leader Backs Kelvin Davis in Te Tai Tokerau
Northland Kaumatua Rudy Taylor says Labour MP Kelvin Davis has the heart and the mana along with total support to win the seat of Te Tai Tokerau in the upcoming general election.
Mr Taylor says the Labour Party and its leader David Cunliffe have ruled out any deals in the North with the Internet-Mana Party alliance and have given Kelvin complete support to contest the seat to become the Member of Parliament for Te Tai Tokerau and to maximize Labour’s party vote in the electorate.
“I personally tautoko Kelvin and will along with many others provide any guidance and assistance he needs to stand and fight for the people of Te Tai Tokerau.
“We are suffering from major challenges in the north with major issues around housing, educational outcomes, employment and whanau support all impacting adversely on our people’s health and wellbeing.
“The very real needs of the region have suffered with an absentee MP and Kelvin will not ignore the voice of Te Tai Tokerau.
“It is time to see a return of all seven Māori seats to Labour and Kelvin will be campaigning tirelessly for a change of government to deliver positive outcomes to our people,” says Mr Taylor.
