Campaign to close the wage gap
This week's edition of the Steve Hart Radio Show (11) looks at the growing wage gap between the lowest and highest paid workers.
In a special two-part feature, Auckland journalist Steve Hart looks at the situation on both sides of the planet.
Next week – in show 12 - it’s the wage gap in New Zealand, but this week it’s England, he speaks with Deborah Hargreaves of the High Pay Centre in London.
Deborah was the Chair of the independent High Pay Commission in 2009, and is the former business editor of the Guardian. Before that she worked at the Financial Times where she was news editor, and financial editor.
She has written extensively about pay and says the gap between high and low pay has continued to grow during the past 30 years.
Jodie Hart is here with a review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a film that was released in cinemas this week.
There's special a report from Pakistan where more than 80,000 people are fighting eviction. And we have a feature on fast food workers in New York winning $1million in back pay as part of a campaign against wage theft from McDonald's and Domino's.
