FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Murdered for $20
Family supports call for Commissioner for Victims
“As an ex pat I would like to give my support to the good people of Britain in their quest for recognition of Victims Rights. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23506025
My first-hand experience of the Criminal Justice System occurred in 2007' when my Grandson aged 21yrs was murdered for just 20 dollars. We as a family were amazed at the support the offenders got whilst we didn't even get the slightest acknowledgement. The main offender even had the most noted defence lawyer here in N.Z. at that time, paid by me and all the other taxpayers, here in N.Z.
Our worst time was yet to come; we have had to endure countless Parole hearings
Our first Parole Hearing we were confronted by the very Judge that had released the guy 7 months before he murdered my Grandson. This, after 32 convictions for violence, 11 of which were for stabbing, he stabbed my Grandson.
Our question was at which number you say he poses a risk to Society. No reply.
We were asked would we be interested in Restorative Justice Hearings. To which I replied my name is not Jesus Christ.
The final insult to us was the last offender to be released was on the anniversary of my Grandsons murder.
The Chief Judge of the Parole Board even denied my Granddaughter to speak at one hearing. Never mind Human Rights.
It is worth noting here that in Victim Impact Statements you cannot write or say anything that may upset the wellbeing of the offender.
Justice Be Damned. To all you good people remember Edmund Burke's saying:
For Evil to Prevail all that is necessary is For Good People To Do Nothing.”
