New Twitter Security Welcomed
Conservative Party leader Colin Craig is welcoming the announcement from Twitter today that new security measures are being introduced. This announcement coincidentally follows yesterday’s hijacking of his twitter account.
“The new security feature announced today is a welcome relief,” he says. “Unfortunately there are people who see value in attacking public figures and high profile organisations.”
Today’s announcement by Twitter Inc. comes after a spate of recent high profile attacks worldwide, one of which sent the Dow Jones falling by around 140 points.
“As a growing number of people look to Twitter as a primary information source the need for tighter security has become more necessary,” Mr Craig says.
There are now investigations underway into the hacking of Mr Craig’s own Twitter account.
“In addition to the investigation by Twitter Inc. there is also a secondary investigation now underway which is following a lead,” Mr Craig says.
“I can’t comment further on the lead we have at this stage, but we have top people working hard as we speak. If we catch the perpetrator they can expect us to seek the maximum penalty against them.”
