Census forms delivery on track
Census day is Tuesday, 5 March and with just over a week to go census collectors have door-knocked just under one million homes and delivered over three million Internet Access Codes and paper forms.
“We’ve been helped along by some fantastic weather around the country making it easier for our 7000 census collectors to get out in the community,” General Manager 2013 Census Carol Slappendel said.
“Our collectors have done an amazing job and we are well on track to our goal of going to every home and delivering a total of 6.4 million Internet Access Codes and paper forms.
“Statistics NZ has received a number of calls, emails and tweets from people concerned they have not had their forms delivered yet, but there is no need to worry. Our collectors will be delivering forms right up to census day.
“We understand people are keen to take part in this year’s census and the demand for information from government, business and community groups is higher than ever.
“The information from the census is vital for planning New Zealand’s future. That is why everyone who is in the country on Tuesday, 5 March must fill in their forms online or on paper,” Carol Slappendel said.
Results from the 2013 Census will be published from December this year.
