Labour celebrate a job well done
“We are all disappointed by the loss of the Waitakere seat and Carmel Sepuloni who has been a great MP, a strong advocate for West Auckland and I’m sure we will see her back in Parliament in the future,” General Secretary of the Labour Party, Chris Flatt said today.
Carmel Sepuloni said “My team and I celebrated our loss on the night, our win earlier this week and tonight we will celebrate a job well done.
“The tide was against us this time round, and I am thankful for all the support I have received while the results have been finalised.
“I would also like to congratulate Paula Bennett on her win this evening.
“We will take a breather for the next few days and make a decision in due course whether or not we go through with an electoral petition.
Chris Flatt said, “It’s been a roller coaster ride for Carmel and her dedicated team in Waitakere. And we are all disappointed by the 9 vote loss. But tonight we celebrate the great work her and her team have done across the electorate.”
