Conservatives concerned at year one’s suspensions
Rising number of suspensions of year one students shows that family dysfunction is still one of the largest stumbling blocks for New Zealand society.
“The rising number of year one’s displaying anti social behaviour is terrible. We need to change this situation now.” Says Colin Craig leader of the Conservative Party “We need an independent inquiry into the breakdown of New Zealand families”
We need to be giving New Zealand children a brighter future. We should face this issue, as helping develop the New Zealand economy is dependant on building strong families. The Conservative Party will repeal the anti smacking law helping reasonable parents and target abusive parents who are causing much harm.
Child abuse and welfare dependency start in the home. We need to get serious about putting up a fence at the top of the cliff instead of the government being the ambulance at the bottom. Functional families provide the best chance for our children.
A society is only as strong as its families. The family is the natural relationship structure that we all begin with. It provides the "home base" and the "launching pad" into adulthood. Great families are the backbone of a great nation. It is troubling therefore to see increasing family breakdown and relationship failures. In truth these failures have significant bearing on whether a young person succeeds in life. There is a great cost and personal anguish when relationships fail.
