Enough is Enough
NZ Grey Power members have had enough of the direction this Government is reviewing National Health Care.
It has become very obvious that true observations of Community needs have not been taken into consideration.
Over recent releases on Health Issues our Electorate Members of Parliament and the members of the Area Health Boards
have made no comment.
It is now time for them to be honest and responsible, and to comment on how these Health Releases are impacting on the
Communities they represent and on those people whose vote they rely on.
We have seen how fragmented and ill informed these Policy Makers are on the Home Care Issue and now we are seeing the
serious problems arising within Hospital situations with Nurses not being able to conduct their profession to the extent
that “Good Caring” demands.
Grey Power is sad that in spite of the Ministers and his Governments pledges, Bureaucracy and Conflict of Interest are
still rife and urgently need addressed and rectified.
Funding is still the main issue, and Care still is well down in the priority order.
Our membership still holds the opinion that nothing will be resolved until by internal perusal and independent audit and
consultancy of the existing funds takes place and these results are related to factual applicable measures, then some
prudent and responsible expenditure should eventuate.
Again Grey Power feels that the Toyota Lean Health Plan which has been so successful in Australia should be adopted in
New Zealand.

Health Convenor for Grey Power NZ.
