William’s Visit a Great Success
“Prince William’s visit to New Zealand has been a great success” says Noel Cox, Chair of Monarchy New Zealand. “Prince William has demonstrated his desire to serve this country.
Kiwis have expressed their enthusiasm for him and his role."
Monarchy New Zealand hopes it will be joined by the many New Zealanders who enjoyed this event in calling for more such visits. “As a courtesy, New Zealand’s royals visit when they are asked to. If we want to see more of them, we need to ensure the government invites them” said Professor Cox.
“Kiwis are proud of their country and know that their system of government is the best in the world. This trip has raised public awareness about the monarchy and has demonstrated how it helps build our strong democracy."
“Quite apart from all the serious and worthwhile things the royals do, they bring colour to government. They bring a sense of ceremony and excitement that turns our government from partisan bickering and musty papers into a vibrant occasion."
“Prince William’s visit is a celebration of what all kiwis share, not what divides them. He shows what good can come from rising above politics and how dedication and a willingness to serve others is what matters in life."
“There have been a lot of smiling kiwis on the news, and in the newspapers these last few days. Thousands of people have enjoyed this trip. They’ve enjoyed connecting with their royal family. It’s great that people can find happiness in a simple thing like this.
“This trip has been everything it needed to be. It made kiwis happy, enthusiastic, and proud."
