Finance workers acknowledge Sue Bradford
Finance workers’union Finsec says Sue Bradford’s decision to resign as a Green MP is a major loss to all the workers
that she has been a vocal advocate for in Parliament.
“Sue never wavered in her support for workers during her time as an MP. Her office may have been a few floors up but her
heart was always with those struggling down on the street,” said Finsec Campaigns Director Tali Williams.
“She leaves parliament with a unique legacy of achievement for someone who never had the opportunity to play a role in
government,” said Williams.
“Sue has been very supportive of finance workers over the years. She helped launch our fair lending proposals, has
spoken out against banks forcing staff to get customers into debt and earlier this year received a petition of over
10,000 signatures calling for greater job security in the finance sector.”
“Sue has been a true ally of finance workers. She can hold her head high as someone who went to parliament and never
sold out, who provided a voice to those who are all too rarely heard and worked extraordinarily hard on their behalf,”
said Williams.
“We wish Sue all the best for her post parliamentary career and look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with her
in the ongoing struggle for social justice.”
