Te Ata Tino Toa calls Key on flag - Congratulates 7's player
Te Ata Tino Toa has serious doubts about John Key's commitment to the
Māori flag.
The group has been lobbying for three years to have the Māori flag
flown from the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
The group was initially bouyed by Key's announcement of support from
the flag, but is now bitterly disappointed with his office confirming
that even with a free t-shirt, he has refused to wear it.
"Talk is cheap, and sadly this PM is not brave enough to wear a Māori
flag, even on a t-shirt," says Te Ata Tino Toa.
"The result under Labour and National is the same - no flag on the bridge."
On a lighter note, Te Ata Tino Toa salutes 7's star Zar Lawrence for
flying the Māori flag on the NZ float on the 7's parade today.
"Ka pai koe Zar - we are stoked to see the flag taking its rightful
place in the rugby arena - go Aotearoa! Kia kaha, kia toa!"
