Robbers Threaten Hamilton Grandma In Front Of Children

Hamilton Police investigating the aggravated robbery of a grandmother's home are seeking the public's help in tracking
down the offenders.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page of the Hamilton CIB said Police were investigating an incident that happened at an
Ohaupo Rd address about 2.40pm yesterday.
"An elderly grandmother was home with her three grandchildren when she heard something amiss.
"Investigating she saw three men through a window, at her back door, the men kicked the door which was closed but
unlocked then gained entry into the house."
Mr Page said once the trio entered her home they threatened the woman.
"One was armed with a knife while another had a piece of wood, they demanded food from the woman and threatened her with
violence if she didn't cooperate.
"The woman has managed to escape and raise the alarm at a neighbour's, returning to her grandchildren inside the house
she found the offenders had been through her home stealing jewellery valued at several thousands of dollars."
The trio were last seen fleeing the woman's property on foot.
The offenders are described as three dark skinned males aged 25-35-years of age, two who are described as over 6ft in
height while the third was noticeably shorter.
"Given the seriousness of this incident we are fortunate no-one was harmed in the attack and we're seeking the public's
assistance in identifying these men," said Page.
"We're asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Ohaupo Rd at the time of the attack and noticed anything untoward, or,
who may have information on who was responsible to contact the Hamilton Police on 07 8586200."
