10-Out-Of-10 For New Police Minister
New Police Minister Judith Collins tough on crime stance has won the backing of the Sensible Sentencing Trust.
The Police have told the new Minister they need the mandate, the tools and the support to deal with increasingly difficult issues and Ms. Collins has promised to deliver.
Sensible Sentencing Trust Spokesman Garth McVicar said it was great to see the Minister was prepared to deliver on Nationals election promise to get tough on crime.
“Under the previous Government the Police had become political puppets and violent crime escalated as a result.”
Mr. McVicar said, “There is no panacea but giving the police a mandate and the tools to do the job is a beginning.”
“The new Minister has vote of support.”
