New Local Government Minister welcomed
Rodney District Mayor Penny Webster has congratulated Rodney Hide on his appointment as the new Minister of Local Government.
Mrs Webster says she looks forward to working with Mr Hide and the new Government in advancing the prospects of Rodney, the wider Auckland region and local government issues.
“I am sure the new Minister brings with him the right mix of energy and enthusiasm to take on this role,” she explained.
“Mr Hide is welcome to come and visit our District and Council anytime, which will help him gain a better understanding of some of the issues facing local authorities in New Zealand.”
Mrs Webster said the Rodney District is one the country’s fastest growing areas and has some unique issues in relation to services and infrastructure that the new Government needs to be aware of.
“We look forward to developing a beneficial relationship with new Minister and Government so issues and problems facing local Government can be tackled proactively and positively,” Mrs Webster added.
