Cabinet line up will help build confidence
We are delighted to see the top business issues will be handled by the most senior Cabinet postings, says Bruce Goldsworthy, Acting Chief Executive of the Employers & Manufacturers Association (Northern).
"Its great to see the top business priorities being accorded top government priority," Mr Goldsworthy said.
"The portfolios of most importance to New Zealand - tourism, infrastructure, economic development and energy - are to be managed by the three highest ranking cabinet posts in government.
"Other positions will help create more certainty by developing an inclusive style of government which will help build business confidence.
"So business welcomes in particular the appointments of Rodney Hide to oversee Local Government and Regulatory Reform, Dr Pita Sharples as Minister of Maori Affairs, and the continuity and experience represented by retaining Peter Dunne as Minister of Revenue."
