Filipaina working hardest for Mangere voters
This time last year Mangere candidate Jerry Filipaina and leader Richard Lewis set out knocking on doors in Mangere with a dedicated campaign team.
Over the weekend, the party undertook a 5th door to door canvas of the Mangere electorate, clearly setting Mr Filipaina apart from the other candidates as being the hardest working political aspirant.
Richard Lewis says while Labour have relied on reputation to get across the line, the Family Party has spent the year in the community talking face to face with the people.
"Jerry Filipaina has proven himself to be the man who is prepared to work hardest for Mangere families. Unlike Labour's candidate, Jerry was raised, schooled and lives in Mangere, so it stands to reason that his motivation comes from the people and not his party," says Mr Lewis.
Over the weekend the party delivered a simple flier explaining the benefits of voting for Mr Filipaina in order to secure two local MP's.
"Mr Sio ranks so highly on Labour's list an electorate vote for him is a wasted vote. By voting for Filipaina Mangere gets a local boy and most importantly, they get two local MP's instead of one. If Mr Sio wanted the best for Mangere he'd vote for Filipaina too," Mr Lewis added.
