Child Dies Outside Stokes Valley Church

Lower Hutt Police are investigating the death of a young boy at 'The Spring of Living Water' Assembly of God Church in George Street Stokes Valley Lower Hutt at about 3.00pm yesterday.
Five year old Levi Falemoe from Taita, was with his mother in a relative's four wheel drive vehicle, along with other family members being dropped off at the church to attend a family sports day.
Detective Sergeant Dean Simpson, Lower Hutt Police, said Levi exited the vehicle in the Church court-yard area, to play with other children from the Congregation.
As the driver moved forward to park, the young boy has been struck by the vehicle, and died a short time later at the scene.
The Police Serious Crash Unit attended, and completed a scene examination.
An examination of the vehicle will be completed today.
Police have interviewed the driver, and are speaking with other passengers in the vehicle at the time of incident.
