Free Coffee On The Cards For Clark Or Key As Muffin Break Bean Poll Continues
Helen Clark or John Key will be able to enjoy an unusual perk of power after November 8 as the Muffin Break Bean Poll is
offering the next Prime Minister free coffee for three years.
As the election campaign continues, the latest Bean Poll has National steady on 45% and Labour up another point to 32%.
The Greens are firm on 11% with NZ First on 4%. Votes for the "others" make up the rest.
"With the country's economy in a rough patch, we decided the next Prime Minister will be in need of a regular pick-me-up
to cope with the pressures of the job," says Muffin Break general manager Garry Croft.
"That's why we've decided to offer them free coffee at Muffin Break until the next election in 2011."
Record numbers of people are voting this bean election, with a total of 73,000 beans cast so far.
The Bean Poll, which has been remarkably accurate in the previous two New Zealand elections and in Australia last year,
allows customers at the 38 Muffin Break stores nationwide to vote - via coffee bean - for their preferred party.
In Winston Peter's Tauranga area, the Bean Poll has National in the lead, followed by Labour while National and Labour
are also first and second in Peter Dunne's Ohariu.
